Get ready because we're diving into the glitzy world of STK Steakhouse in Salt Lake City. Think valet service, upbeat club music, juicy steaks, and flowing champagne. Honestly, when steak and champagne are involved, can you really say no?

Vibes Only, Please

STK has been on my foodie radar forever, and finally the stars aligned. Picture this: a sleek spot blasting club jams, luxurious ambiance, and valet parking that whispers, "You're a little extra and we love it." Bonus points: It’s directly across from Van Ryder, my favorite bar ever. Coincidence? I think not.

Friday evening started slow, surprisingly quiet, but the music was pumping like midnight. Apparently, STK didn't get the memo that it was still daylight, and honestly, I'm not mad about it.

Garlic Butter Heaven

First up: garlic butter bread with chive oil. Guys, I’m drooling just typing this. Kods declared this bread life-changingly good.

Imagine warm bread generously smothered in rich garlic butter and drizzled with fragrant chive oil, decadent and oh so buttery with each heavenly bite.

Oysters and Champagne

We ordered oysters, fully ready to judge because let’s face it: once you've had oysters oceanside in San Francisco, you're a snob for life. Shockingly, these oysters held their own, fresh, lush, and bursting with flavor.

Paired with a bottle of champagne? We were literally smiling from ear to ear. Who knew Salt Lake City could serve up beachside realness?

Burger Secrets

Kods, ever the engineer, had done his research and discovered a hidden gem: a $9 burger buried in the happy hour menu. Bargain hunting in a steakhouse? Iconic. Let me tell you, this burger was stacked high, juicy, perfectly cooked, and had just enough ketchup to make it scandalously good.

Heads up, though, happy hour only goes until 6:30 pm, so book early and be prepared to dig to find that menu!

Simple Steak, Big Flavor

Now for the star of the show: my ribeye.

STK doesn't clearly label gluten-free items, but props to them—they asked about allergies right off the bat. Points for thoughtfulness. My steak arrived sizzling and adorned with truffle butter torched tableside. Cue dramatic swoon.

ree

The steak? Simple but absolutely perfect, fatty, juicy, flavorful, seasoned with a hint of salt and pepper, and seared to absolute perfection. While it didn’t have the theatrical flair of some other upscale steak joints, it nailed simplicity and let the main ingredient shine, just like they promised in 'The Bear.' STK definitely understood that assignment.

Asparagus Drama (And Not the Fun Kind)

But let’s talk veggies: The asparagus, shockingly, was a total lemon catastrophe.

ree

Way too acidic, it overpowered every other flavor. Maybe the chef was having an off night? Either way, it was a definite miss.

Verdict: Classy but Casual

Overall, STK is a solid choice for a stylish yet laid-back steakhouse vibe. Would I call it my number one steakhouse? Probably not. Would I pick it over Ruth's Chris? Absolutely, in a heartbeat. And seriously, bonus points to the valet who parked my Tesla front and center, making our full belly waddle back to the car easy and graceful (ish).

See ya later loves.
